When all else fails, ease restrictions

Methinks this must be for the benefit of the Condi Rice visit to Israel, but what do I know?

In an effort to bolster the popularity of PA chief Mahmoud Abbas, ahead of the PA's general election, Israel has decided to ease restrictions on PA Arabs just three weeks after the attack in Hadera.

.... the following measures were approved:

Judea and Samaria

· 8000 Arabs will be permitted to work in Israel’s pre-1967 borders.
· 1000 Arabs will be allowed to work at the Atarot industrial zone in Jerusalem.
· 7000 Arab businessmen will be allowed into Israel’s pre-1967 borders.
· 1700 Arabs working for international organizations will be allowed into Israel’s pre-1967 borders, and to travel to the Gaza district.

Gaza

· 2000 Arabs will be permitted to work in Israel’s pre-1967 borders.
· 1000 Arab businessmen will be allowed into Israel’s pre-1967 borders.
· 200 Arab contractors and employees of international organizations from Jerusalem will be permitted entry into the Gaza district, subject to security clearance.
· 500 Arabs from Gaza who used to work in Israeli communities that were destroyed as a result of the disengagement plan, will be allowed to work in factories and businesses that were relocated to Israel’s pre-1967 borders.
