Robert Spencer isn't Jewish

Couple_w_yellow_stars_1

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch: A trip to the nuthouse

A few days ago you could have checked my biography at Wikipedia and found this:
Most have discredited Mr. Spencer's views on Islam due to oft-exaggeration. It must also be noted that Mr. Spencer's work is highly biased and influenced by his Jewish Ancestral viewpoints.
Of course, this has happened before. Jihad Watch News Editor Anne Crockett has noted here before that Wikipedia, since anyone can edit it, is absolutely worthless, and here is yet more evidence that she was correct: the Wikipedia editor above assumes that I speak about the roots of jihad violence within Islamic theology solely because I'm Jewish. That might make some small bit of sense except for one little catch: I'm not Jewish.

Communist chic?

"The blood of 100 million victims cries out from the ground. To wear the symbols of their killers is no fashion statement, but the ultimate in bad taste."

Read Jeff Jacoby at The Boston Globe.

al Qaeda in Gaza: Reviving the "sunnah" of slaughter

JPost

Palestinian Authority officials here expressed deep concern over the weekend about reports that al-Qaida was planning to assassinate top PA leaders. The threats have prompted PA security forces to take strict measures to guarantee the safety of the leaders, including PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, whose villa in Ramallah has been completely cordoned off.

The latest measures were taken after a hitherto unknown group calling itself al-Tawhid and Jihad [Unification and Holy War] distributed leaflets in the Gaza Strip threatening to kill a number of senior officials belonging to Abbas's Fatah party.

This is the first time that the group, which is believed to be headed by Jordanian arch-terrorist Abu Musab Zarqawi, has issued a leaflet in Gaza, indicating that al-Qaida elements had begun operating in the area....

The leaflet specifically mentioned the names of five Abbas loyalists who it said would soon be "slaughtered" as apostates: Muhammad Dahlan, Yasser Abed Rabbo, Samir Mashharawi, Nabil Amr and Abu Ali Shaheen.

"We hereby declare that we have begun operating in Palestine," the leaflet said, heaping praise on Zarqawi and al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden. "We have [decided] to revive the sunnah (one of the sources of Islamic jurisprudence) of slaughter against these people to avoid dissension."

Slaughter "to avoid dissension." To your new vocabulary of imams and jihad, fatwas and mufti, Abu-this and Abu-that, you should now add: FASCISTIC. Great word, guaranteed to come in handy.

To hell with Sweden

Whoever heard of the Swedish Air Force, anyway?

JPost (AP)

Sweden claims that its decision to pull out of a NATO air force exercise has nothing to do with the participation of the Israeli air force in the event. But as a Foreign Ministry spokesman put it, both Sweden's decision and its strange denial of the obvious are "insulting and unacceptable."

The Swedes, indeed, did not mention Israel by name in announcing their withdrawal from the exercise. Swedish Defense Minister Leni Bjorklund, however, said that her country was withdrawing because "the Swedish Armed Forces were notified at a late stage that a state not belonging to the Partnership for Peace, and with which Sweden did not previously have bilateral military cooperation and which does not take part in international peacekeeping missions, was to take part in the air exercise." That country has a name. It's Israel.

In case any confusion remained regarding which country Sweden intended to snub, Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson told reporters in Stockholm Thursday that Sweden withdrew from the "Volcanex 2006" exercise in Italy because "We are careful about joining exercises with countries that we won't cooperate with in international missions under UN or EU mandates. That's our principle ... that's our history. The Israelis have another, more warlike, history, which I find regrettable for that matter."

Henrik from Sweden comments, "... we learned that war isn't the best way to solve problems."

The Islamofascists are glad to hear it, I'm sure. (See Dhimmi Watch: Muslims rule major Swedish city)

Meet Rachel Papo

Rachel Papo was born in 1970 in Columbus, Ohio but was raised in Israel. She began photographing as a teenager and attended a renowned fine-arts high-school in Haifa, Israel. At age eighteen she served in the Israeli Air Force as a photographer. These two intensive years of service inspired her current photographic project titled after her own number during service -- Serial No. 3817131.

She earned a BFA in Fine Arts from Ohio State University in Columbus (1991-96), and an MFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City (2002-05).

She began photographing Israeli female soldiers in the summer of 2004 as part of her masters thesis project....

Amazing photos.

I've been doing some reading this evening, so let me share with you.

Meanwhile, Michael Totten's Middle East Journal tells us that Everything Could Explode at Any Moment (IDF Spokesman Zvika Golan told Totten that "Hezbollah is planning an operation").

A Jewish holy site - the tomb of R. Shimon ben Gamliel [beheaded by the Romans when they destroyed Jerusalem, razed the Temple and slaughtered the population] - has been desecrated (again) by Arabs... oh, pardon me, make that "unknown vandals." See Smooth Stone for more.

Last but not least, I found two great phrases at The Corner (NRO): Jonah Goldberg thinks Nancy Pelosi's expectation is "batty on its face." I love that. And Barbara Comstock coins a new name for the MSM, calling it the "Drive by Media."

Oh, and this line (Goldberg again) gets a lot of points:
Radical Islam is globalization for losers.

I'm glad someone thinks they're losers; they think they're winning.

Hamastinian careless with cash

Arutz Sheva:
Almost Half a Million Dollars Stolen From PA

Suitcase_money_1(IsraelNN.com) Almost half a million dollars was stolen from Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Mahmoud al-Zahar on Wednesday, according to Kuwaiti media quoted by Itim news agency.

Al-Zahar was on an official visit to Kuwait when some $450-thousand was stolen from his hotel room. Security personnel at the hotel confirmed the report.

I hope it was a Zionist conspiracy, and that the money will now go to The Israel Lobby :)
