CNN scores direct hit on Jews

I only saw bits and pieces of last night's CNN debacle, G-d's Jewish Warriors, but what I saw was horrendous. I feel like we've been side-swiped; who could have imagined such a vicious attack as that "reported" by Christiane Amanpour?

We should have seen this coming. We should have been more prepared. Their Production Note states [nothin' but the "facts"]:

"... the United States’ staunch support of Israel ... puts America in the crosshairs of jihad."

Some reactions from Dumbledore's Army:

Atlas:

.... If this is journalism, I'm the Pope.... It began with a lie, and went downhill from there. Who does Amanpour think she is? Who died and made her queen of antisemites? .... it is hard to imagine but this unabashed Jew hater outdid herself.

Elder of Ziyon:

I have no real intention of wasting two hours of my life watching the "even-handed" CNN show, "God's Jewish Warriors", which is meant to show that Jews deciding to live in parts of historically Jewish land are morally equivalent to, say, Muslims bombing children. But we do have a transcript ..."

Smooth Stone doesn't mention CNN (yet), but has this important news from Sderot (remember Sderot?): Palestinian Rocket Hits Vacant Israeli Kindergarten [yesterday].

Where is everybody? Still sleeping? Searching Truth Laid Bear, nobody's blogged on the show yet. Maybe everyone's in shock.

We'll come back to this later. Right now I have to obtain a "chocolate bomb" cake from the bakery for The Husband's birthday breakfast.

I could only stand so much, therefore I only forced myself to watch the first hour. However, I did see enough to know a complete job of distortion and bias. Jewish terrorists? I saw people dancing and giving money to help repopulate the disputed territories. I saw a legal lobby that does less damage than the automobile lobbyists. I saw a distortion of international law. Land taken in a defensive war may be legally settled. I saw a small group of terrorist who were arrested by the Israeli police. I saw no government sponsored terrorists, no sports stadiums named after terrorists, no parades through the streets honoring martyrs, i.e. nothing that suggests Israeli terrorism. BTW, why Jewish, is she implying that Jews throughout the world are blowing up railway stations, shooting missiles at planes, destroying the Twin Towers, attacking community centers, and murdering children in their beds? That woman needs to get her head out of her butt and see what is really going on.
It's really a shame that so much time and energy is devoted to the actions of a few violent extremists. Overwhelmingly, Israelis and Palestinians favor a viable two-state solution and acknowledge the humanity and suffering of their neighbors. It is reporting like Amanpour's that only further enrages and divides people who have similar goals in terms of resolving their conflict. Check out the nearly half-million people that have approved the principles of a moderate two-state solution and what they are willing to do to stop the minority of violent extremists who have hijacked their agenda: www.onemillionvoices.org
