Just got this email from Jerusalem:
Please say Tehillim for Naftali ben Gila, one of the students wounded in the Mercaz HaRav shootings whose condition is drastically worsening.
I hope this is incorrect (I would rather believe yesterday's Update from OneFamilyFund that says Naftali will be allowed to leave the hospital for the Passover Seder with his family -- Two weeks ago they were talking about his "miraculous recovery.")
Something must have happened?
While we wait for clarification, it's best to say Tehillim (Psalms) for all the wounded boys. If we cannot or will not take the time for this, then what's the point of our existence? Skip ironing the tablecloth for your seder; this is more important.
Here are all the updates posted yesterday:
Naftali ben Gila Rachel: 14-year-old Naftali was shot in the stomach and in his legs. He lost a lot of blood during the attack was in unconscious for 8 days. He is from Sderot, where his father is a teacher in the Hesder Yeshiva. His family is very much aware of all of the tefillot and the concerted effort undertaken by many in the community on behalf of Naftali and his recovery, and are tremendously thankful for the outpouring of concern. Naftali's condition is steadily improving, although he is still in the hospital. He continues to keep up his learning and play the violen when he has the strength. He will be allowed to leave the hospital for the Passover Seder with his family.Eliyahu ben Yehudit: Eliyahu is a 27-year-old father of two, who was shot in a main artery in his arm. he just underwent a serious operation to repair nerves in his left hand, which is totally paralyzed. He is at home recovering and expecting another operation soon.
Yehuda Hillel ben Miriam: Yehuda jumped out of a 2nd story window in the Yeshiva to escape from the terrorist. He broke several vertebrae in his back during the fall. He is back studying several days a week at the yeshiva, but is undergoing regular physical therapy on his back.
Yishai ben Tzipora: Yishai jumped out of a 2nd story window in the Yeshiva to escape from the terrorist. He broke several vertebrae in his back and suffered a broken foot as well, during the fall. He is at home with his family recovering.
Shimon Yichiel ben Tirza: Shimon Yichiel was shot in the shoulder and the bullet pierced his lung. When he was released from the hospital, he refused to go home. He demanded, instead, to go first to the yeshiva to learn and attend the memorial service marking the end of the Shiva. Now he's back at Mercaz HaRav learning every other day, when he doesn't have to go to Hadassah Ein Karem for physical therapy.
Nadav ben Hadassah: Nadav was shot repeatedly in legs by the terrorist. He is still wrapped in bandages and every other day has to undergoe the painful cleaning of each of his bullet wounds. He is at the rehabilitation ward at Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem, confined to a wheelchair.
Shimon Ya’ahav ben Ruti: Shimon was shot in legs and is in stable condition, but suffering severe emotional trauma.
Listen to these kids - they are the survivors of Palestinian terror attacks. It's a pitch for supporting OneFamilyFund, but ...
we should.
