There's so much going on - in the WV grassroots arena and across the country and the world - my head has been spinning all day. I usually blog early in the morning before the chaos sets in, but today I had to be at a breakfast talk at 8:30, so I never got time, until it was too late.
Later on, amidst the incessant assault on the character of our country [Obama apologized for America yet again and shook hands with the Libyan nutjob}, the draconian repression/suppression/oppression of our economy [who knew cap and trade includes funds for ACORN?], and the sheer barrage of constant new information, I simply couldn't figure out what is most important (yes, I heard that Michael Jackson died).
If I were feeling more sane, I would probably blog about the "LARGEST EVER RESETTLEMENT OF PALESTINIAN 'REFUGEES' INTO THE U.S." -- but to tell you the truth, that is so terribly mind-blowing that I can hardly think about it. (Most will apparently go to bankrupt California.)
So I'm afraid all I have for you today is this minor footnote, an editorial in the New York Times. It says, and I quote:
... Barack Obama broke his promise.... President Obama has yet to deliver....
Mr. Obama was the first presidential candidate to walk away from general election public spending limits enacted after Watergate. As a result, he enjoyed a fund-raising advantage of hundreds of millions of dollars in private donations over the Republican nominee, Mr. McCain, who accepted the $84 million public limit.
Having done his damage to a severely damaged system, Mr. Obama now has a clear responsibility to fix it....
Pretty harsh, considering the source. I take it to be a significant crack in Dhimmedia's Rampant Worship of The Won and therefore a good sign, especially in combination with the newest dis/approval index from Rasmussen:
Maybe we're not totally sunk as a country. Not yet anyway. I feel as a conservative in this country like I feel as a Jew in this world, that if we go down, we must at least go down kicking and screaming. It's a reasonable goal in both cases, don't you think?
Maybe tomorrow will be better. Lila tov.
