I don't know why I'm still blogging these so-called "news items" -- they haven't changed in at least the last seven years. Someone - in this case, it is the "chief negotiator" for the Palestinian Arabs - says it was just a simple nonviolent poorpalestinian protest, but as always, it is noted elsewhere (even in an AFP report) that the simple nonviolent protestors were throwing rocks -- that is, they were attacking the soldiers of the IDF.
BILIN, Palestinian Territories (AFP) – A Palestinian woman died after being teargassed by Israeli troops at a West Bank protest, sparking a protest in Tel Aviv on Saturday and drawing Palestinian talk of "a war crime."
Jawaher Abu Rahma, 36, died in hospital in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah after collapsing on Friday during a protest against the Israeli separation barrier in the nearby village of Bilin, hospital staff said....
The Enemedia strikes again, on behalf of the poorpalestinians ... but if you read far enough into this report, the mother of the supposed victim sets the record straight:
"Jawaher asked to be a martyr; now she is a martyr," she said.
The Palestinian Arabs are the only people who get what they say they want, and then claim some kind of victimhood over it. It's like that quote so often attributed to Abraham Lincoln, about the quintessential hypocrite: the man who murders both his parents and then pleads for mercy on the grounds that he is an orphan. At some point, won't the world just get bored with this?
.... Palestinians joined by Israeli and foreign activists protesting against Israel's construction of the West Bank barrier have clashed with soldiers nearly every Friday outside Bilin and Nilin for years....
