Mannie Sherberg
The presence of Hezbollah -- an Iranian subsidiary -- in South America has been well known -- and well documented -- for years. Back in 2009, Shimon Peres, on a visit to Brazil, presented evidence to the Brazilian government of Hezbollah activity -- drug-dealing, gun-running, money-laundering -- in the infamous "Triangle" area overlapping Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Both New Gingrich and Rick Perry have referred to Muslim terrorism in South America during the current series of presidential debates. None of this is new. The administration and the media have known about it for a long time. American passivity in the face of this threat is incomprehensible.
