The debate was a snoozer. But -- if nothing else -- it showed off the astounding ineptitude of the MSM (including not just Williams but the two local zombies who joined him late in the debate). Three people -- all certified members of the Fourth Estate -- and not a single question about Solyndra, about Fast and Furious, about our strangulating debt, about the dismal prospects for America's children, about Keystone, about jihadist terrorists in South America, about the rapid spread of Islamism throughout the Middle East, about the ever-growing number of freeloaders in American society, about the growing and maleficent influence of public-sector unions, about the abysmal condition of our public schools, about anything that really matters to most Americans. Either these people are disconnected from American life, or they're simply unwilling to bring up any topic that might be embarrassing to the Left. Either way, last night was a very bad night for American journalism. Brian Williams is considered one of NBC News's "heavyweights." Imagine what the evening would have been like if they'd sent one of their lightweights.
