First of all, I sure hope our friend and colleague Mannie Sherberg is doing fine. He's been awfully quiet lately, so hopefully what I'm noticing is just a mild case of spring break.
Things are looking good for the Republican frontrunner; I just heard Charlie Gasparino on FOX News, saying that GE's Jeffrey Immelt is telling friends he would vote for Mitt Romney. Is it a scam? Who knows? But this is definitely a scam:
"Firm sells solar panels to itself, taxpayers pay"
Ace of Spades is keeping tabs on the White House:
"Rising health care costs are a major driver of our long-term deficits, and getting them under control is crucial if we want to grow the economy, create jobs and compete in the world economy," the White House website says.
.... And now, when asked why Obama doesn't talk about ObamaCare anymore, Jay Carney says he prefers to discuss the economy.
But wait-- ObamaCare was supposed to be a huge boon to the economy!
.... Still Unpopular: Repeal is favored, per Rasmussen, 56-39.
Among independents, it's virtually identical, but actually meaninglessly higher: 57-39.
Yeshiva Son is not convinced that Romney will act to repeal ObamaCare. Read this, and you may very well come to share that doubt. (Should we not be succumbing to the "inevitability" argument so easily or so soon?)
I forget who said that Romney was "born with a silver foot in his mouth," but I just saw a clip in which he said that "the economy is coming back." Naturally, it's all over the news, so everyone who's still screaming about the economy - myself included - now looks like an eejot. Argh.
Meanwhile, the Gallup headline says 26 pct of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the country:
At 26%, Americans' satisfaction with the direction of the country is now comparable with where it stood in late 2007, before the Wall Street financial crisis of 2008. It exceeds the all-time low 7% recorded in October 2008, just after Congress passed the Troubled Asset Relief Program legislation to bail out failing financial institutions.
However, it still falls well short of the levels seen from 2000 through 2007 and at points in 2009.
Yeah, hullo? Nearly three out of four Americans (72 pct) are dissatisfied (but you have to go into the pdf to find that out).
.... The walls surrounding Obama are crumbling from within. Right-wing conspirators need not apply, and the Republican machine has been switched off. It's the Democrats who are destroying Obama, which is one reason why the Obama administration is panicked.
Who leaked the recent story that Barack Obama was raised by a gay, transsexual prostitute nanny, affectionately called "Tranny Nanny" by the media? Republicans didn't have a clue, or they would have brought up Tranny Nanny in 2008.
And if that's not bad enough for Obama, the media -- repeat, the media ran with the story. It appears that in 2012, the media love a salacious story about Obama's past more than they love Obama. The idea that Obama might be just a bit mixed up in the cabeza has been allowed to float in "the cloud." God forbid we actually get to see Obama's grades or a new and improved birth certificate.
A recent poll has Obama dropping by 12 points with women -- repeat, women! The same women who wanted to take Obama home to daddy are now abandoning Obama like last year's fashions.
It doesn't take a psychic to see the future for Obama. He sees it, and you can bet he's throwing hissy fits all over the White House as he contemplates updating his resume. Obama is so desperate to keep his position that he recently made a Truth Team declaration that he has drilled for more oil than any other president. Obama wants America to believe that he is the Fossil Fuel President....
Heh. I should leave it at that.
