The Netanyahu family is a Class Act

 

Ben-Zion Netanyahu z"l  lived One Hundred and Two Years.

And if you think that's amazing, you should read the new post at Jewish Current Issues that lists some of his accomplishments during one 20-year span ... between the ages of 18 and 38.

Ari Shavit writes of Ben-Zion that he "loved the Jewish people, but had little faith in the Jews" themselves.

It occurs to me that Obama is quite the opposite. He has something resembling faith in Jews like Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod, but bears no love for the Jewish people. Still, we would have thought that, as President, he'd see to it that the Prime Minister of Israel would receive a message of condolence from America.  

 

Netanyahu has said the most important message he learned from his father is that, “whoever doesn’t know his past, can’t understand his present, and therefore can’t plan for his future"  (TLJ News).

 

What a shondeh it is that even Abu Mazen has more depth of understanding, more class, than the supposed determiner of the international agenda.

All that was needed for The One to express his condolences is a sense of dignity.In one of his early books, "The Earth Is the Lord's," Abraham Heschel wrote: "To be invested with dignity means to represent something more than oneself." Barack Obama is a man without dignity, but then he is a man who represents nothing but himself. That is the curse of the narcissist -- that he can never get outside himself to represent something more than himself. I suspect that Bibi Netanyahu -- who has been up-close-and-personal with The One -- is even more aware of this than we are.
