Spontaneous Combustion

 

Haystacks and compost piles may self-ignite because of heat produced by bacterial fermentation ... in a process known as

spontaneous combustion.

 

 

What's so great about this news is that it was a natural, organic reaction; Romney didn't have to browbeat the base or abscond with anyone's wedding gifts - like some other presidential candidates might - in order to force it to happen:

 

Mitt Romney's presidential campaign has raised $4.3 million since the Supreme Court ruled that President Obama's healthcare law is constitutional.

...  Friday morning his campaign spokeswoman said he had raised $4.3 million from 43,000 donations. 

 

 

And we have   reporting even higher stats, that the Romney campaign received 47,000 donations since the "healthcare" decision, for a total of $4.6 million.

Oh, and:

President Obama’s campaign claims to have outraised Mitt Romney in online donations since the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision ... was handed down.

But they won’t say by how much.

 

Ah, there's that infamous Obama transparency again. You've gotta love it.

You're right, Yael: This is good news. And Romney's already putting the money to good use -- running new ads, in several states, hammering the theme that "Obamacare is a tax" -- a point that can't be hammered hard enough or often enough. More good news: Overnight polls in three states -- California, Kansas, and Florida -- show no change in people's opinions about Obamacare. Far more think it's lousy legislation than good. If Romney plays his cards right, that belief should intensify and spread in the weeks ahead.
