All this ANONYMITY is getting on my nerves. The AP. Again. (twice in two days)
- .... Haaretz said that National Security Adviser Tom Donilon laid out [U.S. plans for a possible attack on Iran] before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a dinner at a visit to Israel earlier this month. It cited an {unidentified} senior American official as the source of its report...
- Haaretz said that the {unidentified} American official said that Donilon shared information on U.S. weapons that could be used for such an attack, and on the U.S. military's ability to reach Iranian nuclear facilities buried deep underground...
- The Israeli official {speaking on condition of anonymity} ... said, "Nothing in the article is correct. Donilon did not meet the prime minister for dinner, he did not meet him one-on-one, nor did he present operational plans to attack Iran."
- The U.S. Embassy had no immediate comment.
Today is a good day to fast and pray.
Meanwhile, Avi Dershowitz hearts Obama on Israel:
.... When I decide who to vote for as President, I ask myself who will be best for America and for the world. An important component of my answer involves my assessment of the candidate's willingness and ability to protect Israel's security, since I strongly believe that a strong Israel serves the interests of the United States and of world peace. I am confident that President Obama will keep his promise "always [to] have Israel's back" ...
And if Avi finds his confidence was misplaced, what will he say then? Oops?
In my humble and non-anonymous opinion, it's simply unimaginable that Bibi would be so reckless as to risk the security of the Jewish state on a "promise" from Obama.
Let us pray...
