Podhoretz is onto something here. According to Rasmussen, many voters aren't yet paying attention -- but one of these days they're going to tune in ... and when they do I think many of them will be astounded at the superficiality, the triviality, and the sheer emptiness of Obama's campaign. Kids have run for Student Council president on more substantive platforms than Obama's. The problem, of course, is that the platform he'd like to run on -- starting with confiscation of all private wealth, which is where he's ultimately headed -- is the one he lacks the guts to run on. We still live in an America where a major-party socialist candidate for the presidency dare not speak the word "socialist." In Obama's case, that doesn't leave much else.
