Call it the Narcissistic Nudnik rule: As public regard for the narcissist goes down, the narcissist's regard for himself goes up. I predict that as the campaign progresses and the public's infatuation with Obama shrinks to the vanishing point, we'll hear more and more first-person singular pronouns coming from The One. The only way he can maintain his self-esteem as his public esteem plummets is to keep repeating "I - me - I - me ..."
