Ironic, isn't it? History may well record that the decline and fall of Barack Obama began with a single spoken sentence -- a sentence uttered by a man acclaimed around the world for his oratorical skills ... for his silver tongue and golden throat ... for his uncanny ability to sway crowds ... for his eloquence, his fluency, his grace before a microphone ... a man idolized by multitudes as a modern-day Demosthenes, a "hip" Cicero, a "cool" Pericles ... blah, blah, blah. So what did this paragon of elocutionary genius do? He went before a crowd of adoring groupies in Roanoke, Virginia, and extemporized. He ad-libbed, he winged it, he played it by ear. And the result could not have been more astonishing if he had stripped to the buff and announced that he, the emperor, was wearing no clothes. Suddenly, for all the world to see, he stood exposed as a president of the United States who despises the American creed. Since the days of Thucydides, historians have understood that history often pivots on very small events -- that the seemingly little and mundane frequently prove to be huge and historic. We may have witnessed such an event just a few days ago.

It's an amazing ad, but it's two minutes long. Will this be shown on tv, or is it a "web ad"? Who watches "web ads" besides political junkies like us?
