A Perfect Illustration of Lies, Damned Lies and Statics

The blue line represents the week-to-week change in the number of new unemployment claims, according to the HEADLINES concocted by the palace guards in the MEDIA, to protect Obama.

The red line represents the revised  - i.e., corrected, actual numbers,of new claims for unemployment benefits. This is based on the little-noticed "revisions" which lag a week or more behind initial announcements, are never right, and are always wrong in the direction that best suits Obama's political interests.

The split between the two lines might be described as a widening ravine. Before long -- say, the first week in November -- it'll be a widening canyon. This is much more than congenital lying; it's a prime example of an insatiable lust for power. Romney said as much a couple of days ago -- and he was precisely right. Orwell remarked that "Power isn't a means; it's an end." I think the American people are catching on to the fact that this perfectly describes what the Obama administration is all about: power for the sheer rapture of pushing other people around.
