.... As former ambassador to Egypt Zvi Mazel  [remember him?]  wrote Tuesday in the Jerusalem Post, [Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy] ... "now holds dictatorial powers surpassing by far those of erstwhile president Hosni Mubarak."

In other words, Morsy's actions have transformed Egypt from a military dictatorship into an Islamist dictatorship.....

.... Morsy intends to remilitarize the Sinai and so render the Egyptian military a clear and present threat to Israel's security. Indeed, according to Haaretz, Egypt has already breached the peace accord and deployed forces and heavy weaponry to the Sinai without Israeli permission.

The rapidity of Morsy's moves has surprised most observers. But more surprising than his moves is the US response to his moves.

Obama administration officials have behaved as though nothing has happened....

 

 

Meanwhile,

Egypt's Islamist President Mohamed Morsy will visit Iran... on Aug. 30, Egyptian state news agency MENA reported, the first such visit by an Egyptian head of state to Tehran since the Islamic revolution.

If Barack Obama bothers to keep up with the news, he may have been "disconcerted" to learn that his pal Mursi is -- according to stories out of Egypt -- now disposing of his Egyptian political opponents by crucifixion. Obama has apparently convinced himself that Mursi is just another Arab hail-fellow-well-met with whom he can sit down any time he pleases and "do business." We can't be sure if the crucifixion story is true, but one thing we know is true is that any business between Obama and Mursi will be business on Mursi's terms. This guy, our president will soon discover, is a Sunni version of Ahmadinejad -- a 21st-century atavism who devoutly believes this is the seventh century -- and that his task is to subjugate all the world's infidels and impose shariah on them. If he crucifies his fellow Egyptians, one can only wonder what fate he has in store for Jews and Christians, especially those who have no intention of living their lives as dhimmis. We are entering a very dark age -- an age as primitive and as brutal as any since the Muslims, the Mongols, and the Vikings all decided, at about the same time, to eradicate Christian Europe. There could not be a worse time for an "amateur" in the White House.
