This is unbelievable, and sickening. Seven years after the expulsion from Gaza, you would think...

But you'd be wrong, as I have been. My friend Doris talked to me about Migron some time ago, but all I could think was that the Iranian threat mattered more than anything. And of course it does, but this matters too.

Caroline Glick has erudite concerns about the threat to Israeli democracy and the worrisome fact that "Netanyahu lacks the means to curb the legal fraternity's abuse of power."

BUT But but... Isn't the larger question, how anyone can possibly believe, or even hope, that Hashem will show us mercy now?

Rather, I would guess, He may show us some version of what we have shown one another... AGAIN.

It is the paradox of our people that we are so smart and yet we never learn.

It's the same old story. The Left is the Left -- whether in Israel or the United States. Again and again -- under Obama -- we've seen an astounding contempt for the rule of law and for the Constitution; in Israel, the only difference is that all the Lefties are Jewish, whereas here it's only some of the Lefties who are Jewish. But -- in both cases -- Leftism trumps Judaism. All of these people -- whether in Israel or the U.S. -- are Leftists in fact and Jews only nominally. And for all of them, there's one commandment that overrides all 613 in the Torah: That shalt not commit nationalism. Putting country ahead of "universalism" is the ultimate -- and unpardonable -- sin.
