This is what America has come to? You can now be charged with trespassing for walking into a political office and tossing a penny? I'll admit that the guy who spritzed the Obama banner was probably guilty of something -- but I can't figure out what. As far as I can see, his only crime was misspelling "liar." For that, he should be placed not in jail but in front of a chalkboard, and required to write l - i - a- r fifty times. Come to think of it, he shouldn't be punished at all. After all, "lier" has a certain logic to it, and in a sane world that would be the correct spelling for "someone who can't tell the truth." The judge should give this orthographically-challenged shlep a dictionary -- at public expense -- and send him home. And the Obama people should be careful about calling the cops on someone who can't spell; the orthographically challenged are one of America's biggest victim constituencies -- and they vote!
