While you still get a tax deduction for charitable giving...
- Each year, thousands of young immigrants and volunteers arrive in Israel alone, to join the Israel Defence Forces and do their part protecting Israel and ensuring the future of the Jewish people. Known as “lone soldiers,” these young men and women come from the United States, England, Canada, the former USSR, Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Australia. They are heroes on a unique mission, giving of themselves for the benefit of the State of Israel and serving as role models and links to Israel for Jews around the world.
The Michael Levin Lone Soldier Center provides material, logistical, social and emotional support. Their volunteer staff members have served as lone soldiers themselves and possess a unique understanding of what lone soldiers truly want and need before, during and after their army service.
You can help the Michael Levin Lone Soldier Center provide blankets and space heaters to our lone soldiers this winter by donating at http://lonesoldiercenter.com/tax-deductible-donations/
- Keep the Christmas Lights On is a charitable organization created through the action group Citizens for Coal to help laid-off coal miners and their families at Christmas [and beyond]. Difficult times are upon the coalfields of Southern West Virginia and help is needed for those who have been laid off and are unable to find jobs in the area.
