Stephen and Shoshana Bryen at PJ Media:
The Obama administration is sending mixed signals again: their words point one way; their actions, another.
The White House stated its opposition to the Palestinian Authority (PA) bid for non-member state status in the UN, but declined to mobilize its and Israel’s traditional allies. It also appears the administration pressured senators to reject three amendments to the Defense Authorization bill that would have penalized the PLO, the UN, and countries receiving U.S. foreign assistance that voted against the U.S. position.
One rejected amendment would have shut off all PA funding if the Palestinians seek to take Israel to the International Criminal Court.
Thus while voicing support for Israel, the administration actually gave its backing to Mahmoud Abbas in his successful UN bid to change Palestine’s status....
Oh, and in case you didn't know... American taxpayers have just gifted 20 F-16s to Mohamed Morsi's Egypt, ostensibly because they were promised to Hosni Mubarak.
And elsewhere, Obama is arming al Qaeda:
.... The Syrian “rebels” have openly identified themselves with al-Qaeda. They have openly said, “When We Finish With Assad, We Will Fight the U.S.”, so it’s no secret they are the enemy.
And Barack Obama has been arming them.
And this isn’t the first time. When Obama was basking in the light of his “democratic moment” in arming the Libyan “rebels” to topple Gadaffi, here again he was arming al-Qaeda.
No one minded him arming Mexican drug cartels, so I guess he felt comfortable pushing his luck.
It seems we misunderestimated the Empty Chair. With an obsequious and compliant media in your pocket, there's almost nothing you can't do!
