Jose Serrano (D-NY15) wants to repeal Presidential term limits

 

 

Introduced Friday in the House of Representatives:

H.J.Res. 15: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Thankfully, a Republican majority controls the House and will more than likely kill the bill - er, Resolution - in Committee.

Last Action: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Explanation: This resolution was assigned to a congressional committee on January 4, 2013, which will consider it before possibly sending it on to the House or Senate as a whole.

I'll say this for Serrano: He at least has the courage to buck the national trend. The national trend is to eliminate the Deity from every nook and cranny of American life. Serrano, on the other hand, wants to install the Deity in the White House -- permanently. I guess that's what Hoffer meant by a True Believer.

Republicans are preparing a substitute resolution, which will thank Him for His efforts, express gratitude for His leaving 75% of the GDP alone, and put "Fairness" on the national currency, right over His picture. It's Plan B.

Serrano has been introducing this same proposal every 2 years since 1997. It would still have to pass both Houses of Congress and be ratified by three-fourths of state legislatures.
