Thanks to you, Yael -- and to Tom -- for a typically wonderful post. I don't know if you've been bitten by the flu bug (I sure hope not!) but - whatever the critter may be -- I hope you get rid it as fast as Ahasuerus got rid of Haman. Congressman Salazar's nutty suggestion about whistles is a perfect example of what progressivism is all about: futility. Ever since FDR, the Dims have been coming up with one futile idea after another -- from Court-packing up to and including Obamacare -- and every one of these futile ideas was sold as being "good for the country." About all they were really good for was producing wreckage. Speaking of wreckage, one more sign as grammatically monstrous as "Every human has the right to choose what's right for them" will wreck the already battered English language. I wonder if anyone ever tried to teach these people anything about pronouns. If so, the teaching was as futile as those whistles would be against the Taliban.
