You refer, Yael, to "the insanity of what's going on." We can only wish it was insanity -- because where there's insanity, there's no malice, no wicked intent, just irrationality -- and irrationality, while frightening, isn't nearly as frightening as malice. I'm convinced that what we're seeing is a deliberate thrust to undermine the United States as it now exists and to replace it with something very different. We elected in 2008 a president who's a through-and-through socialist and America-hater. All full-blooded socialists, despite their pretense and protestations, are America-haters because America has, throughout its history, been very unfriendly to socialism; even today, a large chunk of the American people still reject FDR's soft socialism -- and Obama's socialism is anything but soft. Add to Obama's socialism his antisemitism and you have the explanation for all the "insanity" around us. None of this will change unless and until today's Democrats suffer an overwhelming loss at the polls. Our future -- and perhaps the future of Western Civilization -- is, for better or for worse, in the hands of the American electorate.
