The explanatory sub-heading here should be "Non-Democrats are people too." And we vote. And we do not vote only for Democrats. Some of us even vote for those mean, penny-pinching Republicans who have succeeded at long last to slow, ever so slightly, the rate at which our behemoth gubmint is growing (and without raising taxes any further, as they realize we are Taxed Enough Already).
Remember early on, when The Omnipresent Wons proclaimed that, unlike any other administration ever - and especially unlike the previous administration - this White House would be "open" to the hoi polloi? It was to be a grand transformation -unlike anything ever seen before- to
{...drum roll...}
"The People's House."
Well, no more! The "news" out of the Kremlin White House this snowy morning:
" Due to staffing reductions
resulting from sequestration . . .
White House tours will be
canceled . . .
until further notice."
Gee friggin' willikers.
Of course the powers that be could have stemmed budgetary growth elsewhere in the House of Hussein.
For instance, at the Weekly Standard blog Daniel Halpers offers up three calligraphers for a yearly savings of $277,050.
The problem with the calligraphers, however, is that no one cares about them because no one understands what they do all day, and The Omnipresent Won wants the "pain" of this sequester to be readily apparent and cause as many voters as possible to Hate Republicans. I'm sure you saw The Memo: "Make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be."
SacrificeWatch aside for now, have you heard the one about
