OSAMA TAPE: THE MISSING 12 MINUTES

(tODAY MUST BE nEW yORK pOST dAY.)

NY Post: Officials said that in the 18-minute long tape — of which only six minutes were aired on the al-Jazeera Arab television network in the Middle East on Friday — [#1] bin Laden bemoans the recent democratic elections in Afghanistan and the lack of violence involved with it.

On the tape, bin Laden also says [#2] his terror organization has been hurt by the U.S. military's unrelenting manhunt for him and his cohorts on the Afghan-Pakistani border.

A portion of the left-out footage includes [#3] a tirade aimed at President Bush and his father, former President George H.W. Bush, claiming the war in Iraq is purely over oil.

[#4] The tape also sparked some concern that an attack aimed at disrupting Tuesday's election may be planned.

THAT'S 4 THINGS NO ONE'S HEARD ABOUT THAT COULD POSSIBLY HELP THE BUSH CAMPAIGN.

Oh, and get this:

The Terrorist Threat Integration Center, a joint FBI-CIA intelligence-gathering organization, has drawn up possible attack scenarios for officials to look out for — based on information gathered from communication intercepts and interviews with al Qaeda detainees.

The most extreme of those scenarios includes a multi-pronged biological- and chemical-weapons attack; more airline hijackings; assaults on financial institutions with the use of car and truck bombs and an attack similar to the Madrid subway bombing in march.

Many believe that the ringleader of any possible attack is Adnan Shukriagumah, a 28-year-old Saudi-born Guyanese man who grew up in South Florida.

American feminists are total ingrates and utter fools. I am ashamed to ever have been associated with the Women's Movement --which has achieved for American women little more than the "dutch treat" in the 30 years since Roe v. Wade.

In four years George Bush has done more for the women of the world than feminists have done in three decades.

And p.s., don't anybody talk to me about Abortion Rights for Black African women raped by the Jinjaweed, the Sudanese Arab "militias" commiting genocide in Darfur --the ones no one will admit are Islamic Jihadists.

On Tuesday, my tribe — the Jews — may blunder big- time, voting maybe 3-1 or more for John Kerry and perhaps giving him the edge.

Which raises a simple question: ARE YOU ALL NUTS?

Jews, the old stereotype suggests, earn like Episcopalians but vote like Puerto Ricans — that is, for Democrats.

Al Gore beat George Bush 4-1 among Jews in 2000.

But this election, Jews have more to lose than ever.

Sorry, but I need to be shrill: As Ed Koch (a Jewish Democrat backing Bush) said about Jesse Jackson, Jews would be crazy to pull the lever for John Kerry.

Let's face it: A vote for Kerry is a vote for European anti-Semitism. And terrorists. In Iraq . . . and Israel.

It's a vote for Hamas and Hezbollah, Syria and Iran.

Al Qaeda.

And Arafat, if he's alive.

With just days left in this presidential race it is time we took the gloves off, pointed a finger, and said: "J'accuse." [pardon his French]

I accuse the American Jewish community of profound ingratitude toward a man who has repeatedly stood up for the justice of the Israeli cause, thereby incurring the implacable hatred of a world that has long loathed Israel and assassinated the character of its defenders.

While Bill Clinton invited Yasser Arafat to the White House more than any other world leader (but refused for months to meet with Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel's democratically-elected premier) President Bush utterly isolated the murderous Arafat and made him into an international pariah.

Bush vetoed countless unjust UN resolutions against Israel and courageously defended Israel's right to build its anti-terror wall.

While Ariel Sharon was falsely maligned by Europe, President Bush praised him as "a man of peace."

And at the Republican Convention, Bush chose to single out only one country with the memorable words, "our good friend Israel."

I just saw a clip of Bush out campaigning (I loathe the expression, on the campaign trail) -- I came in at the middle, but he was obviously talking to Democrats. He said, "Your party has gone too far to the Left. I ask that you stand with me." I almost cried.

I stand with Israel, and thank Gd, so far, so does Dubya. I'm proud to stand with the President.

Bombshell with a grain of salt?

Newsmax.com, the reliability of which I'm none too sure, has just come out with what appears to me as a potential bombshell:

John Kerry's stepson, Chris Heinz, complained at a recent campaign stop that Jews have too much influence on the U.S. presidential election.

"One of the things I've noticed is the Israel lobby," the ketchup heir said, in quotes picked up Sunday by the New York Post. Heinz complained that Israel was being treated as "the 51st state, sort of a swing state."

I'm still looking for this in the Post. While I'm at it, somebody call the Jews in Florida (and Ohio) (and Pennsylvania) and give them a heads up.

BTW, while very politically responsible (i.e. active), Jews in this country are less than 2 % of the population. (We were about 1 % of the German population in the 1930s.)

THIS campaign is ending just in time before someone gets hurt. John Kerry's stepson, Chris Heinz, 31, displayed his mother Teresa's famous lack of rhetorical restraint at a recent campaign event with a group of Wharton students.

Philadelphia magazine reports: "Heinz accused Kerry's opponents - 'our enemies' - of making the race dirty. 'We didn't start out with negative ads calling George Bush a cokehead,' he said, before adding, 'I'll do it now.' Asked later about it, Heinz said, 'I have no evidence. He never sold me anything.'"

Heinz also reminded [Philadelphia Magazine] writer Sasha Issenberg of Pat Buchanan by saying, "One of the things I've noticed is the Israel lobby - the treatment of Israel as the 51st state, sort of a swing state."

Buchanan was blasted as an anti-Semite years ago when he cited Israel's "amen corner" in Congress.

Will anyone "blast" Kerry's stepson as an anti-semite?

Nah, the candidates' kids are off limits, right?

Teacher KICKS STUDENT for GOP Shirt

My son just sent me this.

DURANGO, Colo. - A part-time college instructor has apologized for kicking a student because he was wearing a Republican shirt.

Fort Lewis College student Mark O'Donnell said he was showing people his College Republicans sweat shirt, which said "Work for us now ... or work for us later," when Maria Spero kicked him in the leg at an off-campus restaurant.

Spero then said "she should have kicked me harder and higher," said O'Donnell. "To physically take that out on someone because you disagree with them, that is completely wrong."

Police Sgt. Mitch Higgins said Saturday that O'Donnell wanted to press charges and a misdemeanor summons would be issued.

Spero, a visiting instructor of modern languages, apologized to O'Donnell in a letter dated Oct. 29.

"I acted entirely inappropriately by kicking you, giving vent to a thoughtless knee-jerk political reaction that should never have happened," she wrote. "Before the incident, I did not know you and that you are a Fort Lewis student."

The college also formally apologized, said David Eppich, assistant to the school's president.

O'Donnell said the apology wasn't enough and he plans to file a complaint with the college.

The only phone number listed in Durango for the surname Spero was constantly busy Saturday.

Durango police did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Unbelievable. And as my friend Lisa just pointed out, these are the same (Left, liberal) people who have pushed for students' rights -- not to get hit by teachers.

Fabulous Fortifying Thread

It's going on over at Roger Simon's blog. Confessions of the real Liberals who've stood by their values as their party has moved away from them.

Roger started the spontaneous outpouring with this:

Last night I was at a dinner party... yes, it was in Hollywood where I live, but it wasn't particularly glamorous, just normal big city folks getting together. Not all the people worked in the Industry and those that did were more on the workaday side. The people had come together through our children - we were all parents from the same school - and the kids played in the next room while we ate, drank and talked. Naturally, the subject of the election came up and I decided - maybe it was the vodka - to let it rip and say I was voting for Bush. One woman shrieked at the top of her lungs. The others just looked at me in incredulity.

Similar stories are pouring out of the blogoswoodwork. Some folks converted (or "woke up") in 2000 or even earlier, others as recently as Abu Grahib. It all makes fortifying -and often amusing- reading if you never voted for a Republican before, and you're planning to pull the lever, or punch the chad . . . for Dubya.

Someone should write a book :)

Arafat controls $1 billion from Paris hospital bed

IN THE END it came down to money. While fighting for his life in a French military hospital, Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, was engaged in another, secret battle last week as he tried to keep control of bank accounts that are central to his survival in power.

Arafat's godfather-like sway over his people derives less these days from his revolutionary credentials than from the estimated $1 billion in bank accounts to which he alone has access. He uses the money to encourage loyalty among a fractious people and was resisting all efforts to prize the key to this impressive war chest out of his hands.

Just before he boarded a Jordanian helicopter at the start of his journey on Friday to the hospital in Paris where he is undergoing tests for a blood disorder, two potential successors asked him what to do about money.

Ahmed Qureia, the prime minister, and Mahmoud Abbas, his predecessor, told the 75-year-old Arafat that they needed funds to keep the Palestinian territories running in his absence. Instead of producing his chequebook, however, Arafat, in light blue pyjamas and a woollen cap, replied:

"I'm still alive, thank God, so don't worry."

Paul Johnson: Kerry must be stopped

"Quite simply, Kerry must be stopped; and Bush must win"

Yes, historian Paul Johnson, the one who wrote A History of the Jews.

"When George W. Bush was first elected, he stirred none of these feelings, at home or abroad. He seems to have sought the presidency more for dynastic than for any other reasons. September 11 changed all that dramatically. It gave his presidency a purpose and a theme, and imposed on him a mission. Now, we can all criticize the way he has pursued that mission. He has certainly made mistakes in detail, notably in underestimating the problems that have inevitably followed the overthrow of the Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq, and overestimating the ability of U.S. forces to tackle them. On the other hand, he has been absolutely right in estimating the seriousness of the threat international terrorism poses to the entire world and on the need for the United States to meet this threat with all the means at its disposal and for as long as may be necessary. Equally, he has placed these considerations right at the center of his policies and continued to do so with total consistency, adamantine determination, and remarkable courage, despite sneers and jeers, ridicule and venomous opposition, and much unpopularity. . . .

He has, it seems to me, the moral right to ask American voters to give him the mandate to finish the job he has started.

This impression is abundantly confirmed, indeed made overwhelming, when we look at the alternative. . .

There's so many good quotes to extract, I cannot resist this one more:

". . . in a time of crisis, and on an issue involving the security of the world, what is needed is leadership. Kerry is abdicating that duty and proposing, instead, that the voters should lead and he will follow.

Second, Kerry’s personal character has, so far, appeared in a bad light. He has always presented himself, for the purpose of Massachusetts vote-getting, as a Boston Catholic of presumably Irish origins. This side of Kerry is fundamentally dishonest. He does not follow Catholic teachings, certainly in his views on such issues as abortion—especially when he feels additional votes are to be won by rejecting Catholic doctrine. This is bad enough. But since the campaign began it has emerged that Kerry’s origins are not in the Boston-Irish community but in Germanic Judaism. Kerry knew this all along, and deliberately concealed it for political purposes.

If a man will mislead about such matters, he will mislead about anything."
