A special border police unit arrested two Jerusalem Arab residents from the Issawiya area, suspected of robbing ancient burial graves and attempting to sell the bones.
According to police investigators, in addition to dealing in stolen antiquities, the two contacted the Zaka rescue-and-recovery organization offering to sell ancient Jewish bones for thousands of dollars. Zaka officials contacted police and the two were apprehended ahead of the bone deal.Lovely people. Give 'em a state. And make sure it's contiguous ... and Jew-free.Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) officials report the two were dealing in stolen artifacts and in this case, attempted to up the ante and tried selling the bones, realizing Zaka officials would go to great lengths to ensure the bones are retrieved and buried in accordance to Jewish Law.
The recovered antiquities were turned over to IAA officials and Zaka volunteers today will hold a burial service for the bones, which date back to the Second Temple era.
News Item No. 2 - Arabs Stone Gush Katif Visitor
A member of the Zaka rescue and identification team visiting Gush Katif suffered minor injuries this evening after Arabs stoned his car at the Ganei Tal hothouses where he was visiting. A large stone broke the windshield and hit the Zaka member, who was treated on the scene by first aid personnel. Arab stonings have been frequent in the area.It's not their fault; it's the occupation! The poorpalestinians are just oppressed, depressed, bored, unemployed, disenfranchised, inconvenienced by The Wall, humiliated at checkpoints . . . AND many of them seem hateful and barbaric.
