Every 180 days the US President signs a waiver http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/07/20050706-1.html "... pursuant to section 603 of that Act, regarding noncompliance by the PLO and the Palestinian Authority with certain commitments, I hereby impose the sanction set out in section 604(a)(2), "Downgrade in Status of the PLO Office in the United States." and then a little lower down one reads: "Furthermore, I hereby determine that it is in the national security interest of the United States to waive that sanction, ..." With people like Abington esconced in the State Department as "deputy assistant secretary at the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research" one can understand the poor president following orders to waive non-compliance but to phrase it in the "national security interest" is a bit thick. It makes a complete mockery of any American sponsored accord or action.

How is it that the former United States Consul General in Jerusalem, Edward Abington, Jr., is now a multi-million dollar counsel to the Palestinian Authority in Washington, D.C.? This raises serious questions about whether or not Edward Abington, Jr. was already on their payroll during his time in Israel. Why did Edward Abington, Jr. ignore the plight of an American citizen in a Jerusalem jail that he knew was innocent? http://ezinearticles.com/?id=97626

Why Edward Abington, Jr. Must Be Investigated! "The American Diplomat in Arafat's Corner," published in The Jerusalem Report, came as no surprise to me. It was referring to Edward Abington, Jr., the United States' former consul general in Jerusalem who is now "guiding the Palestinians through the labyrinths of Washington. And his firm is being paid $2.25 million for his expertise." http://www.davidbenariel.org/third-temple/edward-abington-jr-investigated.htm
