As part of an initiative aimed at increasing understanding among religions, Christian ministers will tackle Muslim imams in a pre-World Cup soccer friendly in Berlin. In an attempt to keep things clean and well represented, the match will be officiated by a Jewish referee.
Oh, and don't miss Jimmy Carter in the German Der Spiegel.
In support of Hamas, he writes:
"... it is unconscionable for Israel, the United States and others under their influence to continue punishing the innocent and already persecuted people of Palestine."Charles Johnson at LGF notes Jimmy's same commentary at the International Herald Tribune, saying
Good lord. I know Jimmy Carter is a lifetime honoree of the LGF Idiotarian Award, but this is really something else, as he argues in the International Herald Tribune that Hamas is dedicated to peace. He acknowledges that Hamas has refused to recognize Israel’s right to exist, but helpfully adds, “while their territory is being occupied,” even though Hamas themselves do not. (Maybe Jimmah was impressed by their nice new suits.)
He doesn’t seem to notice the little details, though. Like recent news reports that Hamas threatened to decapitate their opponents, and plotted to kill Fatah “president” Abu Mazen/Mahmoud Abbas.
Oh yeah. These are really peaceful folks. Just bursting with peace. Exploding with peace.
But in JimmahWorld, Israel is the obstructionist, by refusing to have “substantive peace talks” with people who openly preach genocidal murder. Punishing the innocent is a crime.
