Four fifths got left behind

from an old BtB post:

"... while I was in shiur at Mayanot, my rabbi asked how many Yidden got left behind in Egypt, and I answered 4/5. He asked where I had learned it, I said from Matisyahu."

I know, I know, Matisyahu is doing shoe commercials these days, but four fifths should sound eerily familiar.

I probably never would have thought to connect those dots. Interesting. There's been a lot of 'interesting' stuff cropping up since the election. I pray it goes no further than being interesting.

Kae, I'll give you two more "interesting" bits. (1) In Hebrew the words "barak" and "rahm" mean "lightening" and "thunder," respectively. http://www.njdc.org/blog/post/lightningandthunder110608 And (2), the current Torah portion, or parsha, is the one in which Ishmael is born.
