To be sure, Ethan Bronner is no Ralph Peters, but who would even think to say something like this... at a time like this?
On the second day of the offensive, which has already killed hundreds and is devastating Hamas’s resources, Israeli commanders on Sunday were lining up tanks and troops at the border.
I'm sure there's more to the article, but honestly, I couldn't read any further than that second sentence. What "resources" have been "devastated"? The lives of HAMAS terrorists? The stores of explosives and fuel in their terrorist tunnels? Their "university"? What on earth is he talking about?
And whatever resources Hamas may have had or lost, exactly what entitled them to those resources? The fact that they stole them from Israel or the United States through the manipulations of their brothers in Fatah? The fact that they were given to them by Iran or Syria? Hamas produces nothing in this world but death and injury, so tell me dear Ethan, what rights do they have to any "resources"?
Maybe I'll read it later; there are, after all, hundreds of comments already. Israel Reminds Foes That It Has Teeth
by Ethan Bronner.
