"... I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed. That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn't."
-- Boraq Hussein Obama in Cairo, June 4th, 2009
Yes, Obama is following the 8-step Walt Plan as per Omri at Mere Rhetoric [and not just the Cloward-Pliven Plan to destroy American capitalism]. And yes, he is creating an climate of hate against Jews, as per Rabbi Morton Pomerantz. But did you know that his speech in Cairo contained a veiled signal to the Arab street "Muslim World" concerning Jerusalem? I think it did.
In that speech - directed at Muslims around the world - Obama said that in the "story of Isra," Moses, Jesus and the founder of Islam mingled "peacefully together." Sounds nice, right? But there are two things you need to understand as to what this might mean to a Muslim audience.
First of all, in Islam, Moses and Jesus do not figuratively represent Jews and Christians, as they might to you. For believers in what Obama calls "the Holy Koran," Moses and Jesus are Muslim prophets. So while an American audience may have taken this at face value to mean a peaceful co-mingling of these three related religions, a Muslim audience would not have seen it the same way.
A Muslim audience, hearing of these three together, would consider all three as Muslim, not as one Muslim prophet and two from other religions. Morevoer, there is a hierarchy at play among them. Their founding prophet, to whom they believe the "Holy Koran" was revealed [just like Obama said] was chosen by their god to lead the others. So if you think this was simply a nice, shiney happy multi-culti moment of religious equality and interfaith dialogue in Obama's speech, think again.
See for instance Wikipedia:
Muslims regard the Qur’an as the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with those revealed to Adam, regarded in Islam as the first prophet, and continued with [the Scrolls of Abraham, the Five Books of Moses, the Book of Psalms and the Christian Gospel]. The contents of the aforementioned books are not physically affixed within the Qur’an, but are recognized therein.
The Qur’an also refers to many events from Jewish and Christian scriptures, some of which are retold in comparatively distinctive ways from the Torah and New Testament...
Now secondly and even more importantly, the "comparatively distinctive" story of Isra to which Obama referred [more accurately transliterated as Al-Israa'] is the story of their founding prophet's magical {dream / vision / journey} in which he is said to have traveled on a winged horse from Mecca to Jerusalem ["The concepts of time and space as we understand them do not apply."]. According to their beliefs, from Jerusalem he ascended to Heaven and had an audience with "Divine Presence," and then magically returned to Mecca.
"On his way down," he had a conversation with Moses, but I will spare you that bit.
It's all laid out quite clearly at ReadingIslam.com:
.... One night [their prophet] was sleeping near the Ka`bah in Makkah, when the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) came to him, woke him up and, taking him by the arm, led him to Al-Buraq, a beast resembling a horse with two huge wings springing from its back. From Makkah, Al-Buraq took off toward Jerusalem. There, [he] was met by all the other prophets. He... dismounted, tethered Al-Buraq to a ring in the gate of Jerusalem, and led them in Prayers....
look familar?
This miraculous journey establishes several facts. First, the status of Prophet Muhammad... he was chosen to lead all the prophets in prayer, and to go where no one else, not even Jibreel [the angel Gabriel], was allowed.
The journey also establishes the sanctity of Jerusalem, because it is the point where the earth and sky meet and from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended to heaven. Therefore, the whole of Jerusalem and not only the mosque is considered in the eyes of Muslims a sacred place to behold and cherish after Makkah and Madinah.
Now when and where might Boraq Hussein Obama have learned "the story of Isra"? Maybe from his Muslim father, stepfather or his grandmother [not the "typical White" one, the other one - the self-described "strong believer of the Islamic faith"]. Or maybe he learned it in Jakarta, at Koran school. Or perhaps on his trip to Pakistan with his illegal alien Pakistani roommate in 1981. Maybe he learned it from the infamous antisemite, Prof. Edward Said, at Columbia University. Or maybe he learned it from his friends in Chicago, Rashid Khalidi and Ali Abunimah. Perhaps his half-brother Malik taught it to him in 1985 when they first met. Or maybe he learned it from reading Imam Qazwini's gift/book, American Crescent, at their long and private meeting during the campaign in '08.
Not that any of this matters (Who needs facts when you've got hope? ) and of course it's racist as hell. So don't you worry... even though Obama and his Iran Lobby are trampling on Israel's national sovereignty, and by any logic will try to take Jerusalem from the Jews and give it to the Arabs (Step 9 ?) I'm sure Rahm Emanuel will let us know when to start being concerned.
Until then, sleep well.
