Your Tax Dollars at Work: Halal Meals for Libyan Rebels

I give up, Part 2.  

Waiting for the coffee to grind and the water to boil, I noticed this on pg. 3A of the local paper: US plans Libya aid package. 

"Non-lethal aid up to $25 million would include gear, food for rebel groups."

.... The list is still being revised but now covers items such as medical supplies, uniforms, boots, tents, personal protective gear, radios and Halal meals, the officials said.  Most of the items are expected to come from Pentagon stocks, they said.

"This is not a blank check," Clinton told reporters...

If you're going to throw money away, I guess you might as well do it in a way that will make all the multiculturalists happy. Why not include pocket-size Korans, so the rebels will have something to read on a slow day? Or, better yet, how about knives, which are always handy for slicing off heads? Another example of political correctness run amuck.
