Romney leads Obama in FLORIDA

Mitt Romney has now taken a 6-point lead over President Barack Obama in the battleground state of Florida.

A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found Romney now besting Obama 47 percent to 41 percent among likely Florida voters. That's a shift from earlier this month, when a Quinnipiac poll found Romney and Obama statistically tied in the state.

In March, Obama led Romney 49 to 42 percent in the Sunshine State.

 

Meanwhile, I suppose you've already heard about Kentucky and Arkansas.

This is wonderful news. What especially excites me is the fact that Florida, Arkansas, and Kentucky are very different states. Besides their being in the South, it would be hard to think of much they have in common -- except maybe a distaste for Barack Obama. If that distaste prevails in states as disparate as these, it may prevail in some other states that we might not think of as red. That's a yet-to-be-proven but very heartening thought.
