Another "puzzling, unexplained development"

Several other agencies of the federal government also began buying large quantities of bullets last year. The Social Security Administration, for instance, not normally considered on the frontlines of anything but dealing with seniors, explained that its purchase of millions of rounds was for special agents...

Gee ... I never knew SSA agents carried weapons. Maybe there's good reason. After all, the fundamental problem with Social Security is that there are too many oldsters drawing payments out of the system and too few youngsters paying into the system. Now ... if enough of these old people were suddenly ... Macabre idea, I realize, but didn't someone once say that hard times call for hard solutions?
