Mike Lee threatens to shut down government over Obamacare

.... [House Republicans will] make their stand in October, when Congress is expected to vote on a continuing resolution that will keep the federal government functioning. Lee sees it as the last attempt to wind down Obamacare before it takes full effect Jan. 1....

"If Republicans in both houses simply refuse to vote for any continuing resolution that contains further funding for further enforcement of Obamacare, we can stop it," Lee said on Fox News. "We can stop the individual mandate from going into effect."

 

It's enough to make you want to move to Utah, especially when your own state is ill-represented by the likes of J-Rock & Mancini.

The choice is stark: Either we shut down the government over Obamacare or Obamacare will shut down the government. It's a cinch they can't co-exist much longer. Plenty of Dims in the Senate know this as well as Mike Lee -- they just don't have the guts to say it. There's a lot of advertising research on "buyers' regret." It shows that when people are unhappy with something they just bought, they waste an inordinate amount of time concocting reasons why they should actually be happy. That's much less damaging to the ego than admitting you were stupid to buy what you did. That's the stage of rationalization the Dims are in right now. Before long, the harsh truth will kick all but the truest believers in the teeth. Senator Max "Trainwreck" Baucus has already found out how that feels.
